Gordon originally trained as an actor at the London Academy of Performing Arts where he first encountered stage combat as an acting discipline. Whilst working as a professional actor he continued his stage combat training, serving a five year apprenticeship at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. He then went on to qualify as a certified teacher with both the British Academy of Dramatic Combat and the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat. He now works as a professional fight director for both theatre and film. Selected credits include Richard III, starring Carl Prekopp and Sadie Frost at Riverside Studios, London, and Peter Pan at the Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin.
Gordon has also taught stage combat at various drama schools across the country. He is currently Head of the BA Acting & Stage Combat course at East 15 Acting School, the U.K.'s only full time 3 year stage combat degree course. Building on the long established East 15 approach to actor training, the course uses stage combat, gymnastics and martial arts to develop a variety of physical performance skills in a disciplined, focused and emotionally connected way. When time allows, he still works as an actor and is a founding member, choreographer and performer with the swashbuckling theatre company, LiveBlades.
